Dear Frank,
I wanted to thank you for our stay in your wonderful villa in DR. We had the best time! We absolutely loved the villa, the location and the locals. Patria is a doll, I only wish she spoke better English. We brought a translation book because we speak very little Spanish---the book helped a lot. Mike is a great guy, our only regret is that we didn't use his services more. We existed so spontaneously that we called our taxi when we had a whim to go somewhere, we didn't want to bug Mike. I think next time we will plan the days we need Mike (we are definitely going back if you'll have us) :o)
Franklin with the horses was fun, he said you ride with him when you're there. He hooked us up with Eric for the "funny bikes" 4 wheelers.
We snorkeled in Sosua and had a great time there as well. We ate at Jose O'Sheas 3 times and only one other time out at Ocean Taste. We tended to cook in quite a bit. Do you have plans to update the kitchen any time soon? We felt very at home at your place and have missed it very much ever since our return. Next time, we will try to go through Miami vs. San Juan, that airport caused us problems both ways. Anyhow, thank you for letting us stay there, we plan to go back next year, Tonya also had a blast (I'm sure Mike told you he babysat her the first night, hee hee...)
Sincerely,

I was skeptical about staying in a house because I have always stayed in Hotels and Resorts. Everyone we spoke with said to stay in an all-inclusive, and they were soo wrong! First of all, thew house's privacy and proximity to the beach cannot compare with any of the hotels I've frequented. And no lobby,no elevator. The pool is awesome! It wasn't heated, and I thought it was ok. I love heated pools, but I am an ocean lover and the ocean was clear, warm and calm. We swam with our 5 year old daughter numerous times. We loved the walk to town, and every morning we ventured down the beach. The efficiency of a kitchen beat waiting for room service to get coffee or a snack at any time. The town is sooo cool. We found French, Italian and Spanish restaurants that were excellent (and I am PICKY). The house is kept immaculate, Patricia made us a great dinner (for 6). She is very nice. Emilio, (the security guard) was great. I felt safer there than in P.R, the Bahamas, Jamaica and N.Y. The native people were great. They never harassed us by soliciting on the beach and if they came up to us we just said,"NO, GRACIAS" and that was it. My daughter and I got our entire heads braided for a fraction of what it would have cost anywhere else. Frank Leone handled one of my concerns about a neighbor's dog IMMEDIATELY. I felt that he was extremely attentive to his house and treated us like his guests. I did not want to leave. For a nit picker, skeptic, brat from N.Y. I could not find any problems here. STAY THERE and you will want to return, and check out the beach in town at night. This was the best vacation for the price I've ever had.

We just returned from a week long stay at Villa Leone and can not say enough good thing about our stay there. The house is fabulous; with a swim up bar and plenty of room for 6 people the house is perfect for a visit to the DR.
Patrica is very accomodating and makes staying at the Villa a pleasure.
There is an armed security guard so you feel very safe at night.
The house is ideally located so you can make a quick trip to Cabarete or drive up to Rio San Juan if you are a bit more adventurous.
We highly recommend the Villa to anybody interested in staying in this area. It is nice not to hear other people partying at all hours of the night.
Seriously- once you stay in a beach house like Villa Leone, returning to a hotel is next to impossible.
Cheers-

Just Back from 2 weeks at Villa Leone/Cabarete Feb. 8 thru Feb. 22.
The villa is in a great spot on the beach - just far enough from town to be peaceful and yet everything is close. Small bar with food right across the street, & bottled water is available there in 5 gal. bottles to take back to the villa.
Never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride into town either by the publicos
(shared taxis) or gua guas (mini vans that operate like buses stoping anywhere along the road)
If you plan on going on any of the tours they will pick you up right in front of the villa (it is really in back of the villa since it faces the ocean) so you don't even need to get to town to catch them.
Sosua is only about 10 minutes away - and Puerto Plata is about 1/2 hour.
Sosua is great for the night life and Puerto Plata has lots of historical places to visit.
Staying at the villas offers so much more than an All-Inclusive Resort - the beauty of the Dominican Republic is getting out and seeing the country and meeting it's people.
We walked back to the villa several times, about 2 miles from the center of town, both during the day and at night, as late as 2 or 3 am, and never worried about our safety - however we did walk along the highway - it is not a good idea to walk the beach late at night except up in Cabarete along the strip of clubs.
Patrice (the maid) is a real sweetheart and goes out of her way to make your stay the best possible, and even though she is there from 9 to 4 she is never in the way of your privacy if that is what you are looking for.
We highly recommend Frank's villas, both Cabarete and St. Maarten, and no we are not paid endorsers just very happy travelers.
Please feel free to email us with any questions about either of the two villas or about questions you may have about the Dominican Republic or St. Maarten - as we have traveled thru both islands quite a bit.
I am sure that if you choose to stay at one of Frank's places that it will be one of the vacations you will treasure for a lifetime.
We both are sure looking forward to our next visits.

Myself and a group of friends stayed at villa Leone in August of 2005. It was a beautiful setup and sooo close to Cabarete. Again this summer I hope to head back to Villa Leone and swim in the new pool (wasn't there last summer).

We just came back from a one week stay at Villa Leone in Cabarete. The villa is clean, very nice, spacious and located in a secluded secure area right on the beach. The villa is well equipped with a private pool and a nice patio to enjoy outside dining and relaxing. Maid Patria is smiling and helpful. A very nice relaxing vacation! We plan to come back with friends.

We just came back from a week at Villa Leone. The villa is located in a secluded, private and secure area, right on the beach, 40 minutes walking from Cabarete. Trade winds made sun comfortable. The maid Patria was friendly and attentive. A very nice, full equipped, and comfortable villa. We plan to come back with friends!
